Beat the airline extra charges to get the best deal

Everybody loves a good bargain but when you end up paying X3 or more the price advertised by the airline, you wonder if it was such a good deal after all.

Yesterday's article illustrated perfectly well the situation. If you have missed it, you can still catch up and watch this hilarious but so true video : http://bit.ly/1ToJVgZ

So now, you know that there is not a such thing as a cheap flight.
But there's good news though and you can beat these extra charges.thanks to Martin's blog from MoneySavingExpert.com. He shares with us 22 pretty awsome tips:
http://bit.ly/1JR0Xn7

Some of this advice fall down in the category of common sense like tip#18 (triple chek your details when booking online) and #12 (watch out for pre-marked an insurance box) but some others are more tricky to put in place if you're travelling with young children like tip#20 (extra fees for buggies and car seats).

Personaly, we (2 adults and our 8 y old daughter) after paying so much on add ons, we learnt to fly differently. Our major breakthrough happened 5 years ago. We decided to fly with hand luggage only (tip#3), embrace online check in (tip#7) and more recently, book low cost airport parking (tip#21). But we're still struggling about tip#10 (Take a plane picnic) because let's face it sometimes it it's very hard to resist the call of the food/beverage trolley.

So what do you think ? Do you use already these tips? Please do tell?
