Founded in 1272, the village has undergone significant transformation through the centuries but has preserved a myriad of outstanding heritage treasures that will take you back in time to the Middle Ages.
Here’s 3 reasons why you should consider Beaumont du Perigord as your next holiday destination:
1- Perfect base to discover the Dordogne Valley
2- Tiny but mighty:
Do you fancy mingling with the locals?
Markets are the highlights of our village: brocante, concerts and night markets…. True local travel experience guaranteed !
Do you you prefer some family friendly sport activities?
Summer in the Dordogne is always busy and there are always plenty of things to see and do !
One of our favorite is the Summer Night Market or Foodie Market (“Marche Gourmand”). If you’re in the area, it’s the best way to spend a brillant evening feasting on local food, freshly cooked in front of you and dance to your heart’s content.
It’s a very popular event and it’s no wonder it’s one of the highlight of our village, Beaumont du Périgord (Dordogne, SW of France) !
Every monday at 6.30pm, simply walk up the street from our vacation rental home to the market square, the beating heart of our village, to mingle with the locals and share an fantastic evening. Grab one of the tables which are set up and walk around the market stalls to buy directly from the local producers whatever you fancy for supper. Market traders provide everything from wine, starters, cooked meals (Lamb kebabs, duck sausages, mussels, black pudding, lamb chops.simple sausages or steaks, with chips naturally..). and deserts (yummy freshly picked strawberries….)and each supply the appropriate plastic cups or cutlery. There is something for all tastes. So you can choose your meal and take it back to the table and enjoy dining under the stars, al frescoe with music by a local band.
The Riding School CEPB is also present at the square to delight little ones with its pony rides! It’s a fun way to discover the cobbled streets of our village!

1- Wine: We work in partnership with local vineyards for wine tasting tours by taxi. But if you don't wish to spend a couple of hours in a vineyard, you can buy directly from a shop/vineyard. Our favorite one is : The Domaine de L'Ancienne Cure (shop & vineyard run by wine grower, Christian Roche), 15 mins drive from our rental and on the way to Bergerac airport. 5- Crafts from talented local artists: If I had to pick only 2, it would be Eric Simonin, Glass blower in Brantome (more infos https://goo.gl/A1xQ1F ) and Alexandra and Jean-François Cesar from the pottery La Salamandre in Monpazier (more infos: https://goo.gl/QBzKep)
6-Brocante (flea market): Our vacation rental, L'Ancienne Ecole, is located in the heart of the historic village of Beaumont du Périgord, only 2 mins walk from the main square where flea markets and antique fairs will take place especially during the summer months.
