Do you have a sweet tooth like me?
The Dordogne is the perfect place to sample sweet treats with lots of bakeries/pastries shops to choose from!
And if you wonder, where to buy your croissant, baguette and pastry near Bergerac, here’s our 2 favorite places :
1- Boulangerie L’Epi beaumontois (Beaumont du Perigord)
Our village has a few bakeries but our favorite has to be L’Epis beaumontois.
5 mins walk from our rental, drop in, for fresh , out of the oven croissants and some delicious “sarmentine” bread for your breakfast. The “sarmentine” is a typical local bread with sesame, easily recognisable by its shape (split ends to illustrate the vine shoots from the vineyard ).
If you get a chance, try the walnut pie, it’s the house specialty!
L’Epi beaumontois : n°15 Rue Romieu in Beaumont-du-Perigord,
2- Boulangerie Patisserie Deli “A La Gloire de Mon Père” (Creysse, Saint Sauveur) (UPDATE 04/19: CLOSED)
A la Gloire de Mon Père is our latest find!
There are in two locations: Creysse (Main St) and St Souveur (Main St)
Everything is fresh, colourful and to die for!
Bonus: you can grab a table and treat yourself to a cup of coffee with one their oh so yummy pastries (try some “chouquette”!) before going for a walk along the river Dordogne!
